Delfino ran the whole system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The hardest part: premium pricing in El Paso<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The single hardest thing to implement was the new pricing. El Paso is not a market most owners associate with premium tuition, and Delfino carried the same belief almost every owner does: <em>my town won&#8217;t pay that.<\/em> He did it anyway. He took baby steps, raising his <strong>basic program to $197 a month and his leadership program to $247<\/strong> \u2014 and he&#8217;s explicit that he isn&#8217;t finished: he plans to raise prices a couple more times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What actually happened when he raised prices is the lesson every owner needs. Enrollments didn&#8217;t collapse. Revenue climbed. The market he was so sure would reject premium pricing accepted it \u2014 because price is a signal of value, and a Black Belt program run like a serious institution can command serious tuition, in El Paso or anywhere else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting the staff on board: Melissa Costello&#8217;s turnaround<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raising the price on paper is one thing. Getting your team to sell it with confidence is another \u2014 and Delfino says the hardest person to convince was his program director, Melissa Costello. That&#8217;s worth pausing on, because a program director who doesn&#8217;t believe in the price will quietly undermine every enrollment conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Melissa says it plainly herself: &#8220;One of the struggles we did have was having the confidence to charge what we&#8217;re charging now.&#8221; But once they implemented the new prices, her results changed her mind fast. &#8220;Sales were definitely improving \u2014 we were enrolling more students than when we were charging less,&#8221; she explains.
