The better model is the admissions counselor at a university &mdash; you&#8217;re not signing someone up for something disposable, you&#8217;re accepting them into a program. Calling it &#8220;a trial enrollment, about a quarter of the way to black belt&#8221; describes the same commitment in terms of progress instead of obligation &mdash; and rarely triggers the same hesitation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAQ: Enrollment Language<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Isn&#8217;t this just a marketing trick?<\/strong><br \/>No &mdash; it&#8217;s accuracy. A family enrolling their child in a multi-year martial arts program is a genuinely different thing from financing a purchase, and the language should reflect the difference, not obscure it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What if a family asks directly whether it&#8217;s a contract?<\/strong><br \/>Answer honestly and plainly.
