Presenting it as one round number plus &#8220;the first month&#8221; keeps both figures small and keeps the conversation moving. The information is identical. The reaction in the room is not.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Round the Number, Don&#8217;t State the Sum<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the standard enrollment fee is $800 and today&#8217;s discount brings it to $397 or $437, round it to $400. Then present it as &#8220;it&#8217;s just $400, plus the first month&#8221; &mdash; and stop there. Don&#8217;t add the numbers together out loud. The moment you say a combined total, you&#8217;ve forced the family to mentally re-derive it and sit with the bigger number. Let them ask if they want the total; most won&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;How Would You Like to Do That?&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the number, the closing question is simple: &#8220;How would you like to do that?&#8221; Not a list of card brands upfront &mdash; just the open question. If they ask what you mean, then you offer options: credit card, cash, or check. Leading with the question rather than a list keeps the moment feeling like a normal transaction instead of a menu of financial commitments.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Don&#8217;t Send Pricing Home Ahead of the Conference<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a family already agreed the tuition range works for their budget before they even sit down for the enrollment conference, you&#8217;ve given away your closing moment for nothing in return &mdash; and worse, you&#8217;re now repeating a conversation instead of having it once, at the point where you&#8217;re actually ready to close. Whatever paperwork you send home between the first and second class, leave pricing out of it. Cover schedule, health questions, and expectations &mdash; save the numbers for the room.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Simple Script<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Normally it&#8217;s $800 to get started. Since you&#8217;re ready to finalize the enrollment today, we&#8217;ll do a $400 discount &mdash; so it&#8217;s just $400, plus the first month. How would you like to do that?&#8221; That&#8217;s the entire close. No combined total stated out loud, no list of card brands unless asked, no mention of &#8220;payment plan&#8221; or &#8220;contract.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAQ: Presenting Tuition<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Isn&#8217;t it dishonest not to state the total?<\/strong><br \/>No &mdash; every number is stated plainly and truthfully. The technique is about the order and format of the numbers, not hiding any of them. A family can always ask for the total, and you tell them immediately if they do.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What if the family pushes back on the price?<\/strong><br \/>Slow down and ask what would work for the budget rather than immediately discounting.
